Abstract Aiming at the problem that the influence mechanism of user group structure on the stability of complex product group intelligent collaborative design network is not clear, a new stability analysis method of complex product group intelligent collaborative design network is proposed. Based on niche theory, this paper analyzes the ecological role in the intelligent collaborative design network of complex product groups, defines the individual niche representation model, and makes an empirical study by removing network nodes. It is found that generalists with large niche width, ordinary designers and generalists with small niche width are the key roles affecting the stability of the network. The research results provides a reference for the precise regulation of complex product group intelligent collaborative design network.
