Abstract:In this paper, we establish the evolution mechanism of the circuitness of the urban traffic network, and obtain the different topologies of networks. Then, we study the traffic carrying capacity under different network topology structure. As a result, with the increasing network traffic flow, it is much easier to be saturated for the smaller and larger cirucitness. On the contrary, the network has the largest carrying capacity when the circuitness is about 0.54.
